Our Mission
The survival of any living species is dependent on the ability of its continuing generation to thrive. Humans are no different. The mission of the Multidisciplinary Center on Childhood, Public Policy, and Sustainable Society (the Center) rests on the premise that a prerequisite for society to thrive and sustain is enabling and fostering the safe and healthy development of its next generation of children into well-adjusted and productive adults. To this end, the investment and prioritization of coherent and effective evidence-based laws and policies in the field is a critical factor.
The Center is a non-for-profit organization[1] that serves as a platform to generate and facilitates interdisciplinary collaborations that advance the protection, safety, health, and wellbeing of children and youth. The Center brings together scientists and law and policy scholars to build a multidisciplinary and evidence-based body of knowledge that can inform and enhance the development of laws and policies that impact the lives of children and families. Furthermore, the Center aims to improve the accessibility and visibility of rigorous and timely policy-oriented research to the makers of law and policy in this field, and facilitate the seamless translation of research and scientific findings into concrete and operational policies that improve the lives and wellbeing of children and families
