Childhood Exposure to Crime & Violence: Developing a Policy Response

This project aims to inform and spearhead systemic efforts to improve the wellbeing and resilience of children and communities affected by crime exposure, while enhancing fiscal efficiency and GDP gains. Building on an interdisciplinary examination of the problem of childhood crime exposure, its nature, scope, causes, outcomes and costs, an evidence-based policy framework to effectively respond to the problem will be developed. A combination of a policy-impact analysis and an economic analysis are pursued to appraise the policy’s potential to mitigate the adverse outcomes associated with the problem and measure its economic benefits in monetary terms.
