Children, AI, Accountability and Ethics
In many of the things they use on a daily basis, including social media, educational technologies, video games, smart toys, and speakers, children and young people are surrounded by AI. Children’s online video viewing habits, educational programs, and social interactions are all influenced by AI.
AI has the potential to improve society through educating and empowering children and young people. However, young people can be particularly at risk from the potential dangers that AI poses, such as bias, cybersecurity, and accessibility issues. AI must be inclusively created to uphold the rights of child users. Children and young people can be shielded from the potential dangers of technology through child-centric design. The development of AI technology must be inventive and ethical. Responsible AI is secure, moral, open, equitable, reachable, and inclusive.
